2016 Drouthy Neebors Syrah
As this wine has aged so has the mouthfeel become more encompassing and silky. Darker upfront fruit of blackberry and cassis with layers of spice, black pepper and forest floor giving the wine layers to explore. As the wine opens, candied violet mixes with a savory meat element and both a ginger and orange spice lifts the wine on the finish leaving the palate refreshed.
Samantha's vineyard (40%) comprises the majority of this Drouthy Neebors Syrah along with three other vineyards: Atoosa’s (26%), Moaveni (26%) and Timbervine Ranch (8%). 74% of the blend coming from Russian River Valley and 26% from Bennett Valley.
Our Drouthy Neebors wine club members voted for their favorite blend composition, which was made by combing wine from each of our Syrah vineyards.
Food Pairing Notes
Barbeque ribs with a spicy rub or with a sweet and sour sauce are a crowd favorite. A honey balsamic pork tenderloin is also a fantastic choice.
